Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please help us to support the wonderful work of TROOP AID.

The Run

On Sunday 17 April 2011, Ben Parkinson, Andrew Buckham, Katrina Edwards, Jenny Barton, Robert Foster, Amy Clark, Paul Weston, Toni Webster and Kate Lax will be tackling a challenging 10k run round the Don Valley area in Sheffield, to raise vital funds for Troop Aid.

Ben's Story

Ben Parkinson was seriously injured by a land mine whilst serving with the British Army in Afghanistan.

He lost both of his legs and suffered a traumatic brain injury, fractures to his skull, cheekbone, nose, jaw and pelvis and vertebrae, as well as serious damage to his spleen and chest.

Ben's determination and fundraising generosity has inspired Troops and civilians alike and we are proud to be joining him in the Lord Mayor's run.

For an Excellent Cause...

Troop Aid is a charity which supports our injured Troops returning to the United Kingdom from the war zones.

This includes providing Grab Bags containing the ‘basic essentials’ to troops staying in military hospitals who arrive back without their personal effects or clothing.

Troop Aid have also sponsored two rooms at Selly Oak Hospital for the families of Armed Forces Personnel who are in intensive care.

Their funds come entirely from fund raising events and donations from organisations such as Help for Heroes, the local business community, the general public and several British expatriate communities overseas.

So PLEASE give generously so that Troop Aid can continue to help our Troops returning from conflicts for as long as possible.
