Hello everyone!

In June 2018 I will be moving to Rwanda for 12 months as an Engineers Without Borders volunteer to help develop the civil engineering capacity of MASS Design Group.

Engineers Without Borders UK partners with organisations and communities around the world to increase access to engineering in water and sanitation, clean energy and built environments. Over the past five years their international work has contributed a staggering 160,000 hours to projects, supporting the delivery of engineering infrastructure and the research and development of sustainable technologies.

Help them continue to deliver their incredible work by supporting me and Engineers Without Borders UK’s local project partner MASS Design Group in Rwanda. I will be spending 12 months working to develop civil engineering capabilities within MASS’s in-house engineering team by providing training to Rwandan engineers.

MASS are a non-profit innovative architectural firm that work on projects such as schools, hospitals and community centres but are currently lacking civil engineering expertise.

In Rwanda, there are only 150 registered engineers and engineering education is limited. In a country with a population of 12.4 million this needs to change. A donation from you will be hugely appreciated and will help support the work that Engineers Without Borders carry out. Your donation will help fund future international projects and engineering outreach in the UK to inspire the next generation of engineers. Through engineering we can help tackle the most pressing problems in the world.

Within our global community, 1.2 billion people are still living in extreme poverty and 2.3 billion people lack access to basic sanitation services.
