Calcutta Rescue works to make life better for people living in the slums and on the streets of Kolkata. We provide free medical care for poor people, free education for their children, and skills training to help them to become self-reliant.

Story

On September 4th, Jenny, Peter, Asa and Maya are spending a night sleeping rough in London (Picadilly) to help raise money for  Calcutta Rescue Fund, the charity that works with poor and destitute people from the slums and streets of Calcutta, India. Calcutta Rescue provides free medical care to people suffering from everything from malnutrition and skin diseases to leprosy, TB and cancer, as well as free education for slum children. Each year it helps 100,000 people on the edge of survival. There are no paid staff in the UK so all money raised goes to Kolkata, where a little goes a long way. www.calcuttarescue.org.uk.

We would be so pleased if you could sponsor us!

Once you donate, Just Giving will send your money directly to Calcutta Rescue Fund and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
