Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

All donations will go to the West Dorset Branch of the MNDA.

JERRY: "I volunteer for the West Dorset Branch of the MNDA, visiting and supporting people living with MND, their Carers and Families. The Association also works hard in raising awareness of this cruel disease, and is heavily involved in research into the causes of MND, helping scientists get closer to future treatments.

Despite having never swum more than a km in my life, Kate has persuaded me to take up the challenge of the Bantham Swoosh this July. So ... I am practising my front crawl and we will brave the chilly waters of Devon at dawn with a large crowd of other adventurous swimmers ... swimming 6km down a sandy river which will (hopefully) "swoosh" us out the end & into the Sea!"

KATE: "I have done this crazy swim twice before, though it will still be a huge effort - 6km of cold water is not within my usual comfort zone! This time I will swim the swoosh with my Dad, who turned 70 in April, to help raise money for the motor neurone disease association - a charity for which both my parents volunteer. The MNDA does such a lot of good work for patients with this distressing condition and I hope our swimming endeavour helps this worthy cause."

WILLIAM AND FRED: We are swimming the "mini SWOOSH" to help raise money for MNDA. It will be wet!
