Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
16 years ago unfortunately I lost my beautiful sister Sian to cervical cancer at the age of just 32. In 1998 she was first diagnosed and after a 4 year courageous battle, her life was cut short during her prime. Sian’s zest for life was inspirational and she never stopped being positive or complained during her gruelling treatment. She never said “why me” and she helped so many others with her tips and advice on how to cope with the treatment. Losing Sian has left a huge void in all our lives and we miss her dearly.
Whilst Sian was undergoing treatment she took part in a clinical trial which was instrumental in developing a vaccination that is now given to teenage girls which will hopefully prevent this terrible disease. I am therefore not only hoping to raise awareness of the importance of screening but also to raise money for this great charity which provides support to women suffering with cervical cancer.
I have decided that I wanted to set myself a difficult challenge and therefore myself and my husband have signed up to the do the TenFoot run/swim event on the 13th July. This involves starting a swim in Tenby and ending in Saundersfoot but covering roughly £10k between the 2 disciplines around the coastal path whilst being tied to my husband Brad!
