On Friday 24th August 2012 my daughter Betsy, at just 9 days old, was rushed to St. George's A&E with chronic heart failure. The amazing staff saved her life and stabilised her sufficiently for her to be transferred to Evelina Children's Hospital where she underwent an emergency double bypass heart operation.
Thanks to the incredible St. George’s A&E Department she is now a rather rumbustious and lively 4 year old girl with an amazing future in front of her.
A couple of years ago I raised money for ECHO - Evelina Children's Heart Organisation to help them to continue to support children and famalies with heart conditions.
Now I want to thank St. George's A&E by raising money to help them to save more lives.
Along with my oldest friends Guy Fischer and Paul McGimpsey, and with the help of Willie Stewart, Alec Gentlemen and Bob Lambert as support drivers, I am planning to cycle the 900 or so miles from Land's End to John O'Groats in 5 days or 120 hours!
We are setting off late evening on Thursday 15th June 2017 and planning to arrive early evening on Tuesday 21st June 2017. You can follow our journey on twitter @5dayLEJOG or instagram @120hourlejog
If you feel that our challenge is worthy of a couple of £'s then please donate. I appreciate that I have already done a “big” charity type thing and it can get a bit much being asked all the time but every single £ will be massively appreciated by the charity and by me so please, even if it is just £1 it will all add up.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you so much for your time.... and wish me luck.... i think I'm going to need it!!
