Story
With the 22nd February being World Encephalitis Day, I’m going to pledge to walk, swim or cycle a total of 300 miles between 1st January and 22nd February.
The rules are:
Walk / Run
Only dedicated walks count, standard walking around the office or house will not be counted. I will pledge to walk a minimum of 100 miles. I will count any treadmill miles in the gym.
Cycle
I will count cycling both on a road bike and a static bike in the gym. I will need to cycle a minimum of 50 miles.
Swim
I will swim a minimum of 15 miles at the NSC swimming pool.
The remaining 135 miles will be made up of a combination of the three. This averages over 5.5 miles a day, every day for 53 days.
Brainwalk
Furthermore, I will take part in the Encephalitis BrainWalk where I aim to complete 220,000 steps in total between 1st February and 22nd February.
Why
We lost our gran due to encephalitis and so I am raising money to support The Encephalitis Society both financially and to help raise awareness of the condition.
