All of the money raised from the Strictly challenge will be used to help fund Family Support Services. When an adult in a family has cancer it affects everyone. For children and young people this can be isolating and frightening. It can bring dramatic changes to their lives and can affect their experience of school, relationships and their ongoing development.

The Cancer Focus NI Family Support Service helps families cope with the disruption to ordinary family life and minimises the long-term impact on children’s emotional well-being when a mum, dad or close family member has cancer. A Family Support worker discusses each family’s individual needs and arranges services to support them in the best way we can. These services include one to one support at home or at our service centre in Belfast, phone support at any time, family groups to allow children and families to meet others in a similar situation, Writing for the Future to help a family member to leave a legacy in words or on film by recording their wishes, hopes and dreams for their loved ones.
