I was railroaded in to attempting the Sheffield half marathon after watching it go past my front door last year.....my best mate Pete asked if I fancied it, I said no, and he duped me in to doing it anyway, so here I am.
I'll make this clear, I'm overweight, unfit and don't especially like running, so I'm simply aiming to complete this rather than trying to set a new land speed record.
However, having set my mind on doing this, I thought I should try and inspire myself by raising a bit of money for something which is close to my heart.
My wife, Sarah, and I went through 3 years worth of bloody awful fertility treatments and all the heartache that comes with it. And trust me, there was plenty of it. Somehow, when we had all but given up hope, we got lucky, and our little miracle Henry was born on 2nd May 2015.
If it wasn't for the incredible work and research done in this area I would never have been lucky enough to be a Dad, so any money I raise from this that helps or supports other people who find themselves in a similar position is, in my eyes, priceless.
Please give generously if you are able, and in return feel free to come and see me dragging my arse around the course on 14th April.....I'll be the one at the back!
