I have suffered from NMO myself and I want to raise money for NMO Spectrum-UK. I came out of enforced musical retirement to play a charity gig on Saturday 28th March 2015 at The Granby Arms, Uppermill, Oldham. There was live music, a DJ, good food, CDs and merchandising - and a chance to help those suffering from this rare neurological illness.
I set a target of £500. Finding that I rather liked appearing in public again, I embarked on an irregular series of charity gigs around Saddleworth.
I acknowledge, gratefully, the ongoing support of my self-appointed PR Agent, Gail McCallum. I am also very grateful to Aimée Belmore of The Saddleworth Independent for her regular coverage of my charity appearances.
Five years down the line and my original fundraising target has been smashed. At the beginning of 2020 I firmly believe that £3000 is achievable this year.
