After much patience (and training, and coffee) the jump took place on the evening of Friday 22nd June, not long before sunset. 
It was a fantastic experience that I look forward to telling you all about...right from the initial training up until the moment got home.  (Including my adventure getting back to the airfield!)

Thank you all so much for your support.  The money raised all goes towards the work of Combat Stress, and they make people's lives better.  You have all helped them do this. 

On 16th June 2007 I'm jumping out of a plane.  Many of you will be glad to hear this!  Thing is, I need to raise money for the parachute, else it will be my last and first jump. 

 

I'm doing it to raise money for the Combat Stress charity, who help veterans and ex-forces personnel who suffer from psychological injury as a result of their service: www.combatstress.org.uk 
The work this charity does also helps the families of veterans who are of course affected by their plight. 
This includes veterans of all wars...the two World Wars, Falklands War, Iraq War, to name but a few. 

It's awful to see a close relative suffering and being unable to help, and inversely very pleasant to have some support and guidance from a serious charity that understands and can help. 

Any sponsorship help would be appreciated! 
I will post pictures and if possible a video of the event for you all to see.

£ 20.00 pays for an hour of nursing care 
£ 30.00 pays for a session in the Activities Centre
£150.00 pays for an hour of psychiatric counselling
£160.00 pays for a full day's rehabilitation treatment
