Story
For all my life, I've never bothered with New Year resolutions. But now we enter 2018, I've signed myself to a series of challenges as a way to pushing myself beyond limits. In doing so, I'll be taking part in four fundraising efforts with four charities throughout the year. I hope you're able to be part of my journey and help in whatever way you can.
I've been working at Young Epilepsy for over a year and I've seen first-hand the amazing work they do. They support around a million people in the UK, not just the 112,000 children and young people with epilepsy, but also their family, friends and education and their health professionals. Whether it's battling stigma surrounding the condition through public affairs or projects including Connect and Transitions, or developing high-quality care and education excellence at their Surrey campus - with specialist non-maintained establishments St Piers School and College, housing 160 children and young people with complex epilepsy and other neurological conditions, and their rehabilitation unit. All this, plus Young Epilepsy has amazing corporate and research partnerships, working with globally renowned paediatric neurology experts from UCL and Great Ormond Street (GOS-ICH) - as well as a dedicated helpline which opens five days a week.
The money you'll donate will go far with Young Epilepsy, trust me! And, considering I can barely run to catch a bus, running a half marathon in Brighton will be worth every effort.
