Story

Jenna says: "Home is warm and comfy and there is lots of nice food. It must be hard for people who have no where to go. I saw a homeless man recently and I gave him some of my waffles - he had two and also his dog had one. I have done the sleep out before and it was fun but also it raises money to help people who are struggling."

Jon says: "Homelessness is a scandal in a country like ours. People should not have to sleep rough in a country with all the resources that we have.  Yet rough sleeping has gone up 134% in the last 7 years.

WLM have been working to bring homeless people in off the streets for 130 years. Our centre in Seymour Place in Westminster is on the front-line of bringing help and hope to people sleeping rough.  Every day between 80-100 people are welcomed in and they can have a hot breakfast and a warm shower.  They can see our medical team on site, get advice on benefits and specialist support for mental health issues. We even run a vet clinic for their dogs.

Last year we helped 249 homeless people come off the streets and into accommodation. Yet WLM does not get any government money for this work.  We need to raise around £500,000 every year for our work. Please consider a donation to support this great work!"
