Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
You may remember that back in June 2018, I took part in the PKU Diet for a Day Challenge. I vlogged throughout the day and posted across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with the intention to raise awareness of the condition that my brothers were diagnosed with at birth. Those posts had in excess of 5k views.
PKU is a rare genetic metabolic disorder where the body struggles to break down protein, typically leading to low-protein diets of less than 10g a day. If untreated, PKU can lead to seizures and brain damage.
I mentioned that I would be doing a marathon to raise money for PKU in 2019, so the time has come. I shall be running the Brighton Marathon on Sunday 14th April for The National Society for Phenylketonuria (NSPKU).
The NSPKU exists to help & support people with PKU, their families & carers. It works closely with medical professionals in the UK.
It receives no government funding & is dependent on the generosity of its members & the public to fund practical support, raising awareness & research into the condition.
I am currently several weeks into a 16 week plan and you can keep up to date with how my training is going on my Instagram page.
Thanks for your support,
