Story
Anyone who has met me in the last 12 years will tell you that I am 'the one with the long hair'.
A healthy mix of peer pressure, a sense of communal social responsibility and the undeniable and relentless onslaught of a rapidly receding hairline, has forced me to 'man up' and permanently sever my attachment to my long-haired persona...as long as my fundraising target is met!
Over the years there are so many of you who have assured me that you "would give anything" for a chance to play a part in my haircut...well your day has come, this is your #onceinalifetime opportunity to put your money where your mouth is, and join me in this huge sacrifice!
For those who feel the desperate desire to act as executioner and physically grab the scissors and personally participate in ushering in the new (and improved?!) short-haired me, I've got something for you too ...the top 3 or 4 supporters of the campaign will be invited to cut one of the plaits on the big day.
The rest of you will be invited to come over on Chanuka and admire the new 'regular hair length' while repeating - for the last time perhaps - the endless stream of long-hair related witty comments and wisecracks that I have been honoured with/subjected to for over a decade!!
While I appreciate that it is me who is actually putting my body on the line in this daring feat, I recognise that this would not be half as impressive as it could be without your generous support.
