I am Raquel's cousin Josh and together with Raquel's father, Jon, cousin Tommy, Tilly, Miguel Ángel and Susana, we have formed two groups from four countries to climb the highest mountain in Africa, Mt. Kilimanjaro, and the highest mountain in the Iberian Peninsula, Mt. Mulhacén, in honour of Raquel who has recently passed away of CYSTIC FIBROSIS (CF).  We plan to bring music equipment to the summit and sing songs from London Grammar, Alice Martineau and a hit from the 80s!  Raquel has always been an angel from the start. Her energy, strength, bravery and ability to excel have always been unmatched.  Her pure and loving soul lives on within us all.

CF is a life-limiting genetic condition.  It affects over 10,000 people across the UK and many more worldwide. It damages the lungs and digestive system and drastically shortens the lifespan as a result.  As stated by Emily's message in the Supporters section below, the pain caused by CF to the sufferers, and to the family and friends surrounding them, is unreal.  Further information about CF can be found on the CF Trust website.

We want to do something special for a very special someone who we love deeply.  The funds are going towards ground-level issues that will support the people suffering from this life threatening disease on a daily basis and will help to have a better chance at life.  With better care, treatment, research and breakthroughs more people worldwide, not just those in the UK, suffering from this nasty condition will lead a better life.  This is a worldwide campaign.  It is time to knock CF on the head for all. 

We aim to reach the top of the mountains on 25 October 2018 to coincide with the first anniversary of Raquel's passing.  

Let Raquel Griffith-Riquelme, Claire Wineland, Josh Llewellyn-Jones and all with CF inspire us to realize that they are not isolated, it is not their problem, it is the responsibility of all to realize that the time has come to act.  Please help us to accomplish our goal in honour of our darling Raquel by supporting in any way you can, we are sincerely grateful.

La FQ es una condición genética que limita la vida. Afecta a más de 10.000 personas en todo el RU y a muchos más en todo el mundo. Daña los pulmones y el sistema digestivo y como resultado acorta la esperanza de vida drásticamente. Como dice Emily en su mensaje en la sección de seguidores más abajo, el dolor causado por FQ a los que lo padecen, y a la familia y amigos que los rodean, es irreal. Puede encontrarse más información sobre FQ en la página web de la Asociación de FQ; Todo el dinero que se recibe va directamente a la Asociación de FQ que está oficialmente registrada. El dinero es para apoyar y beneficiar a los pacientes de todo el mundo.

Queremos hacer algo especial por una persona muy especial a la que queremos mucho. La recaudación será para temas de nivel básico que apoyarán a personas que sufren esta condición mortal en el día a día. Con mejor cuidado, tratamiento, investigación y descubrimientos más gente en todo el mundo, no tan sólo los del RU, que sufren de esta terrible condición tendrán una vida mejor. Esta es una campaña mundial. Es hora de erradicar FQ de una vez y por todas.

Queremos alcanzar las cimas de las montañas el 25 de octubre de 2018 para que coincida con el primer aniversario del fallecimiento de Raquel.

Permitid que Raquel Griffith-Riquelme, Claire Wineland, Josh Llewellyn-Jones y todos los que tienen FQ nos inspiren para que se den cuenta de que no están solos, no es su problema, es responsabilidad de todos nosotros el darnos cuenta de que ha llegado la hora de actuar.
