For the love of the game and our local hospice · 24 April 2020

Douglas Macmillan Hospice (Dougie Mac) is the only hospice in Staffordshire supporting Children, Young Adults & Adults. Care is given to patients who are living with a life-limiting illness at our two sites and in the community. We also provide support for patients families and their carers.

Story

During the current corona virus situation local charities are suffering like most places financially. Dougie Mac provides support to patients approaching the end of their lives and their families in an ever changing pandemic. Dougie Mac requires a minimum of £12 million every year 80% of which comes through fundraising. Unfortunately with the recent situation all planned fundraising events have had to be cancelled which would have brought much needed income to the hospice.

My daughter cares a lot about the hospice as 2 of her great grandads were looked after by the hospice services at the end of their lives. She is also a lover of football and enjoys playing for Port Vale girls. She would like to show support for our local hospice by using her love for football to raise money for a cause that is close to her heart. She is planning to do 50 miles over a 4 week period dribbling a football at the path by our home.
