We rehome over 1300 pets a year to help improve animal welfare in the UK

Story

I used to work at the National Animal Welfare Trust's (NAWT) cat and dog rescue and re-homing centre in Clacton.  It's a charity close to my heart, the guys there care for and find loving new, forever homes for hundreds of abandoned and stray cats and dogs every year.

I've seen the difference this centre and its staff can make to animals down on their luck, dogs like Sully and cats like Ella, in the photo, who through no fault of their own found themselves with no human to look after them. The NAWT team show them love, kindness, fun, get them the veterinary care they need to bring them back to good health and find them a new family to call their own once more.

I want to keep helping NAWT and their pawsome residents so I'm using my other passion in life - Yoga to help raise funds.  A few years ago I qualified as a Seasonal Yoga Teacher.  One element of traditional yoga is called Karma Yoga - it's the yoga of action, letting go of your ego and doing something selfless and altruistic, for the service of others. It's about demonstrating kindness and compassion - giving back.

So if you are visiting this page, it's probably because you came along to one of my free Karma Seasonal Yoga Sessions. I hope you enjoyed it, hopefully you feel better for it, either physically, emotionally or mentally or if you are lucky all three.

If you would like to practice Karma yoga off the mat - turn your downward dogs into waggy tails and your cat stretches into purring puss-cats - perhaps you would consider making a donation to this page.  It's a great cause and you would make such a difference to the lives of the cats and dogs who need NAWT Clacton team's help right now.
