You probably know that I've been on a Breast Cancer journey three times now (and if truth be told I am getting a bit fed up of it!!).You probably also know that over the years I have raised funds for various other charities that are meaningful to me. Some of them being Fight for Sight, Versus Arthritis, Contact (a family) and of course CRUK which applies to all cancers.

In October 2021 after having completed the London Marathon, when I was part way through chemotherapy for my 3rd BC, I rashly requested an Oct 2022 London Marathon place with Breast Cancer Now. At the end of 2021 and end of my chemo I was very pleased to hear I had been given a place. Trying to go for a run at the beginning of 2022 I was shocked to realised just how much work I had to do to recover and rebuild from the effects of chemo.

In January I started on the C25K (couch to 5k)  training plan to try and keep things sensible and to not be too disheartened realising that I couldn't run for more than a minute :( 

I have a few events already in plan for 2022 but am not rushing into entering too many before I know I am capable of doing them but, as at March, my walking / running plans are:
9th Jan - Round Sheffield Run, though I walked most of the 14+ miles *completed in 4 hours 7 minutes
20th Feb - Wombwell 5 *completed in 50 minutes 52
6th March - Norton 9 * completed in 90 mins 27
14th/15th May - Moonwalk London, 26.2 miles WALKING through the night *completed, sub 9 hours
28th/29th May - Race to the Castle, 100k over 2 days finishing at Bamburgh Castle. Time cut offs allow for it all to be walked! *Now entered *** CANCELLED :( but I went to Bamburgh anyway and did a few runs.
26th June - Round Sheffield Run, summer event, try to beat my Jan 2022 time! * completed in 3 hours 24 + one fall, my first in 12 years of running
2rd Oct - LONDON MARATHON. Hopefully I can beat my Oct 2021 time of 4:59:48
*** DONE IT***** 4 hours 22 mins 10
Almost the same time as my first London in 2013.
10 years and 8 London marathons done :)
