Im cycling from London to Brighton at night!! with my 2 friends Anna and Carol in order to raise money for a charity which supports families affected by Diamond Blackfan Anaemia (DBA)
DBA is a rare blood condition usually diagnosed at approximately 12 weeks of age, DBA patients fail to produce red blood cells properly and need treatment ranging from monthly blood transfusions to regular steroid therapy and in extreme cases a bone marrow transplant.
DBA-UK is a charity very special to me as my son Max age 5 suffers from this rare condition and requires a bone marrow transplant.
This charity aims to deliver support, research and hope to the DBA community in the UK by bringing familes together, communicating the latest medical information and funding research into causes and cures.
