John was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on the 5/1/2015 and sadly died on 7/3/2015. After a year of being told he was suffering from IBS( irritable bowel syndrome ).We are devastated. We want to raise awareness for this cancer to be diagnosed earlier so as no other families get to go through what we have. Gp's need to LISTEN to their patients and look at their medical file. John had a thin file.

Pancreatic Cancer Action is all about early diagnosis. So surgery can be performed. This is vital for your chances of survival. Sadly when you are diagnosed it's all  too late.

I'm taking part in the London marathon 2016 and have pledged to raise 2000.00. My personal goal is 7000.00. A huge ask! The reason behind this amount  is simple . John was born on the 7th and died on the 7th. This number featured a lot in his time in hospital , room 7 level 7 etc and when was in hospice again was in room 7. PCA has  been given 7 charity places  to take part in the marathon this year so I'm taking it as a sign !!

John' s bravery was just amazing throughout his illness he still had a smile on his face and always made us laugh! Because of this he's made us brave. In hospital he repeatedly had all the student doctors around his bed listening to his story! I found  his strength inspiring..I remember one student doctor coming back and taking more notes, John didn't mind his answer it only takes one , he might be the one ,to find some test to detect early diagnosis of this silent killer .

PCA is all about early diagnosis . That's why I'm running for this charity to hopefully give others the chance of survival that John didn't get.

In  advance of any donations I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
