Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On Saturday 8th June we will be taking part in Tough Mudder - a 12 mile assault course which is designed to push us to our limits and get us very muddy!  We have decided to raise money for the Orlando Rogers Foundation which has been set up in memory of our friend Orlando. ORF aims to raise money to help talented people achieve their full potential.

Orlando lost his life in a tragic plane crash 2 years ago. He was in all ways a larger than life character who in his 26 years served in Afghanistan with the Royal Marines; became a British judo champion 12 months after taking the sport up; was part of the most successful under 16s Torquay Athletic rugby team Devon has ever seen and rowed (mostly naked - apparently to avoid chaffing...) across the Atlantic. You may have seen him in the ITV documentry series "Commando on the Front Line" and films "The Fifty Five Year Old Commando" and "Row Commando".

He inspired everybody he met and in setting up this charity, his Mum, Julia, hopes that his memory can inspire many more.

ORF raises funds to give a chance to disadvantaged or deserving people (of all ages) to achieve something extraordinary.  Those assisted will have an opportunity to develop personally and accomplish an achievement previously beyond their reach.

All donations, great or small, would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Felicity & Kate

About the charity

Our Foundation was established in honour and in memory of the life of Orlando to help extraordinary people achieve extraordinary things. It aims to encourage, inspire and support people, young and old, to achieve their full potential where, without help, this would not otherwise be possible.
