Call4Backup is a Police Peer-to-Peer Support Charity who help serving and volunteer members of the Police Service with issues they may be suffering with a view to improve their overall well-being.

I am fundraising to support this charity as I feel so many officers do mentally get affected by things whether its at work or at home, but without support will eventually affect their work. But what makes mental health different for Police officers is they still need to turn up to support that grieving family, help someone who maybe suicidal, reassure members of public, deal with a fatality (no matter what the age or state of the casualty), be abused and put down by members of public. But through all this remain professional and not to let emotions get the better of them, not matter what's going on in their own lives!

To get any help through the job you may have to wait weeks or months to see someone. Call4Backup is there, fitting round shifts 7 days a week where you can speak to a colleague who understand the pressures of the job. And it's nice to know they're there whether you use them or not, but definitely a needed charity in these difficult times!
