Story
Mum was diagnosed with cancer just before Christmas. Despite months of tests, causing much stress and heartache, the site of the primary cancer was never determined. She passed away on 1st April 2017.
Mum led a wonderful life, surrounded by the people she loved and doing the things that made her happy. She touched the lives of everyone she met, and we've been incredibly proud to hear that so many of her former students and colleagues have been inspired by her enthusiasm, knowledge and passion for learning.
The Daisy Appeal was always a cause close to Mum's heart, and given the circumstances of her passing it now seems even more appropriate. In a nutshell it's about improving diagnostics for three of the region’s biggest killers – cancer, heart disease, and dementia. With cures still a long way off, early diagnosis still gives us the best chance of survival. Ultimately it’s about saving lives – keeping loved ones with us longer.
If you would like to honour Mum's memory with a donation, please make it this one.
Please note there will also be a collection at Mum's funeral on Thursday 13th April at All Saints Church in North Ferriby.
