Clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene should be a normal part of everyone’s daily life. Without all three, people can’t live dignified, healthy lives. With all three, they can unlock their potential, break free from poverty and change their lives for good.With clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene, children are born healthier. They get the chance to go to school and grow up to become adults. Women and men get to earn a living. Whole communities start to thrive. It sounds normal and it should be.

Therefore, I am trekking Nepal in October 2022 to support WaterAid in implementing infrastructures that will provide clean water to remote communities.  I am so incredibly fortunate that I have never had to think twice about the fact that I can turn on the tap for a drink when I am thirsty; I have never had to worry about picking up illnesses from unsafe drainage systems; and I have always enjoyed the luxury of being able to bathe every day and be clean. It's my belief that access to clean water is no less than a fundamental human right, and in today's world, there is no valid reason why we cannot utilise the immense technological advances made by humanity in order to turn this into a reality for everyone.
