The reason I’ve decided to shave off my hair is because I’ve been inspired by my twin daughters school friend Ellycia Daisley , age 7, who was diagnosed with leukemia on 17^th October 2007. Everyone who knows this lovely family have been overcome by feelings of complete helplessness…. it could happen to any one of our children and I just felt that I couldn’t sit back and do nothing.

Birmingham ChildrensHospital is the charity chosen by Donna, Ellycia’s mother, as both the treatment and support received by the family has been excellent. If I can raise enough money to improve the care of one child, or enable just one set of parents to stay with their child during a hospital stay at the most desperate time in their lives then without shadow of a doubt it’ll be worth losing a head of hair.

Some people have commented on how brave I am to do this. I don’t consider it to be a brave act at, all I have to do is grow some hair. These children are having to cope with things most adults wouldn’t be able to handle, and their parents can only sit back and hope – they’re the brave ones.
