Story
Anyone who knows me, knows I love a challenge. Running my first half marathon is going to stretch me physically and mentally but I’m confident I can do it. Fairly new to running and over 50 now, this will be a significant effort but I’m excited and ready to go.
Dementia in all its forms seems to affect everyone of us nowadays, Alzheimer’s being the most common form. The impact of a diagnosis and progression of the disease has a life changing impact on all the family and carers involved. The support and advice given by The Alzheimer’s Society is second to none. Here in Hexham we are lucky to have a wonderful lady called Caroline Armstrong working as our support officer. Caroline offers practical support and advice on every level, she is a lifeline. More money is needed to ensure there are people like her up and down the country to help everyone who needs it.
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
Thank you for reading this, please support me and give whatever you can.
