Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

A little while ago I filled out a form to register my interest in a charity place to run the London Marathon in October 2021, on behalf of and to raise funds for St Michael's Hospice. There were only 3 spaces available and fortunately, I was lucky enough to secure a spot and I couldn't feel more excited and proud to run for a charity extremely close to my heart.

I think it goes without saying just how amazing St Michael's are. All of the incredible staff and trained volunteers are committed to improving the quality of life for not only their patients but of their patients families and carers too, free of charge. To put that into perspective, it costs £5.4 million a year to care for families living with terminal illness and only 10% of the running costs are covered by the NHS, therefore St Michael's rely on people like you and I to take part in their fundraisers, shop at their retail outlets, play their lottery and make regular donations to raise the necessary funds to enable them to continue to provide this invaluable care service.

Those who know me, will know how much I love to run, especially long distance, so this may not seem like much of a challenge but I can assure you it will be. I prefer to run on trails, with my dogs, at my own pace, stopping frequently to take in the views, so the thought of running 26.2 continuous miles on tarmac is extremely daunting, will be a real mental and physical battle and a huge commitment training wise.

I know that times are tough for us all right now, but I would love it if you could help me reach my fundraising target of £1000 by donating whatever you can to this fantastic and important charity that rely on us all to help them continue to care.

Lots of love x
