As family or a friend, you always want what is best for the people you care the most about. Me, as a cousin, wants what is best for Richie. This is why I have decided to climb Snowdon in aid of raising funds for a more independent future for this literal ray of sunshine. I could describe Richie in a variety of ways, but I'd say the thing I admire the most is the strength this 13 year old continues to show. Evidently, Richie encounters physical problems, and has restricted mobility. As a result of this, my family has decided a power chair would be beneficial to him. However, when Richie failed his test on a minor mistake, he was refused a power chair, and any financial support. This seems unfair to me, and I can imagine it does to most people too. Independence is one of the most crucial traits to develop at adolescent stage, so it would be cruel to seclude my cousin. A power chair opens up countless possibilities, including freedom - which everyone should be entitled to. The climb will be taking place the 3rd of August at Mount Snowdon. Every pound makes a difference, and can change Richie's life for the better.
