Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

To all of you who haven't heard the news or follow us, a group of us, Myself (Keith), Tony, Johan and Kevin will be attempting the 3 Peaks Challenge the weekend of the 8th and 9th of May. We will be climbing the 3 highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales within 24 hours, starting with Ben Nevis, quickly moving onto Scafell Pike and finally Mount Snowdon.

At this time of the year it’s not a task to be taken lightly and will require a lot of training and missing out on all the much needed beer 😢 . Tony, Johan and Kevin as parents themselves didn't need a lot of persuasion when I asked them to join in the challenge and their response to the call was overwhelming, if this doesn't give you a reason to celebrate them as well nothing will..... When I asked their reason for doing the challenge so that I could share it with everyone this is was they said:

-Tony, "When Keith first asked me if I would do the 3 peaks challenge with him I thought it was the mountains in the Peak District, I then googled it and gulped.. It is one hell of a challenge! and one that will no doubt take its toll, but it is nothing in comparison to losing a child, whatever amount is raised is going to a great charity in SANDS. We have a good group of gentlemen onboard and we are all looking forward to this challenge."

-Kevin, "The Challenge we are doing is nothing in comparison to the challenges, pain, hurt and hardship people go through with stillborn and neonatal deaths, so to be able to do this for such an incredible cause, with such amazing people truly inspires me"

-Johan, "I am blessed with 3 beautiful healthy children and to do this challenge as hard as it might be is but a small contribution of support I can offer to the real hardship people go through having to experience stillborn and neonatal deaths. Very humbled to be part of this amazing group."

We will be climbing wearing bibs covered in the names of angel babies and take them to the peaks with us, if you would like us to add any names do send them to 3peaks4sands@gmail.com, we will be honored to take them with us and we can now confirm that we will be joined by Grace, Kelly and Dan at Snowdon to give us that much needed final push from the cold, tiredness and lack of sleep.

In these unprecedented times we would like to say a massive thank you for all the support and kindness we have already received from our wonderful friends, devoted families and the charity's staff..so far it has been formidable.

We will be keeping you updated in the coming weeks so pop back to this page from time to time to get some insights from the training with ,no doubt, some funny anecdotes and pictures.

And one final ask, please do help us spread the word about #the3peaks4sands by sharing this page or if you follow us on social media by sharing our social media posts.

Thank you!
