My legendary Pap was Diagnosed with multiple myeloma almost 2 years ago to the day.
Multiple myeloma causes cancer cells to accumulate in the bone marrow, where they crowd out healthy blood cells. Rather than produce helpful antibodies, the cancer cells produce abnormal proteins that can cause complications such as bone weakening and fractures.
Myeloma cannot be cured, and the average life expectancy of someone with Myeloma is far too short.
