Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Dad was a very special Man, hard working, successful , kind and generous. Liked by all his customers, so loved by Family and Friends.

A true family man, the best Dad I could have had, a true inspiration.

In 2010 Dad spent time in hospital with an unexplained illness starting from back pains. One day he got out of bed and lost the use of one leg. He was never to walk again.

It was a long time before Devics disease was diagnosed. The actual term of the disease is Neuromyelitis Optica .

A very traumatic 3 years followed and Dad remained positive and bright throughout. Even losing the loss of his other leg did not deter him from trying to live a life and even had spells back working in the business he had built up.

In December 2013 the disease caught up with him and complications meant he sadly passed  away.

I am determined with my friends and family to raise £10,000 for the future research of Devics. If one family were to receive a diagnosis quicker then we have so achieved.

The 4 day event will be three 58 mile bike rides (2 outside, 1 indoor spin) and a final day childrens fun mile, a half marathon walk and for myself and some others a marathon run. Some are joining me for the four days , others are doing individual/double events. All efforts are amazing.

Sports auctions, race nights, charity football games and family events are also taking place.

Your donations are so appreciated in helping us fight this disease. Dad was a very special man and will be smiling down at our efforts .
