Did you know that 200 people have an asthma attack and end up in hospital every day? Asthma kills 3 people in this country every day. Every 10 seconds someone in the UK has a potentially life-threatening asthma attack.
I have asthma myself and cycling has helped me manage the symptoms of asthma enormously. So now I want my bike to help others with asthma. On August 2nd this year, ie very soon, I'm going to cycle 100 miles, from Central London, out into the Surrey Hills and back, finishing on the Mall. This is the Ride London 100 route, which partially replicates the cycling route from the London 2012 Olympics and includes iconic hill climbs like Box Hill and Leith Hill.
I always carry my reliever inhaler with me but hopefully I won't be needing it to get me up those hills. (Seriously, since I took up cycling seriously, I very rarely even need to use my inhaler).
Please give a donation if you can - no contribution is too small or too great. This is a very worthwhile cause, as the statistics above suggest. THANK YOU.
