Arthur Stenner
Yeovil | Died in 2010

Former Bristol City footballer Arthur Stenner died aged 76 in March 2010.

Stenner also played for Plymouth Argyle, Norwich City and Yeovil Town.

He died at his home in the Somerset town after suffering from dementia and heart problems for more than 10 years.

Mr Stenner, who ran a removals and storage business in Yeovil, left wife Fay, sons Kevin, Martin and Mark, and two grandsons Martin, 12, and William, seven.

He played for City from 1954-55 following his return from National Service, leaving after a season to join Argyle.

His son Martin Stenner said: "Dad was a very good family man, and he loved talking to people. He would feel comfortable talking to the Queen or a tramp, and he would treat them the same. He would go out of his way to help someone and loved his two grandsons, little Martin and William."
