On the 9th September I'll be doing the Great North Run to raise money for Coping with Cancer North East.
Coping With Cancer North East offer counselling, palliative care and other services to people suffering from cancer and their families. The services are run by volunteers and are all free of charge to users.
Back in January we lost my Granda after a long battle with cancer. Having seen what he went through, and the effect his illness had on my Nana and the rest of the family, I thought this would be a great charity to run on behalf of. While we had no dealings with this particular charity they're helping out people just like my Granda and Nana every day.
I appreciate a lot of people are running for various charities this weekend, but if you can chuck a couple of quid my way we'll all feel warm and fuzzy in the knowledge the money is going to a great cause.
