My Grandad passed away peacefully after a short battle with Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), a form of blood cancer. He was 81. He was such an amazing man & kept his illness a secret - He didn't want to worry the family.

I already have a strong connection with Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, following the loss of my friend Wayne in January 2011. Now my Grandad has inspired me to carry on fundraising and do something amazing in his memory. I'm thrilled to be able to take part in this incredible adventure.

I don't have the best record when it comes to this kind of thing, climbing the wrong mountain while attempting the 3 Peaks Challenge in April 2011!

But for those of you worried I might get lost, fear not. I will be embarking on an organised trek led by Charity Challenge, the same group of experts who organised the successful Comic Relief trek in 2009.
