Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2015 I ran Brighton Marathon.  It was my first one and I was convinced that it would be my last.  I enjoyed every moment of it, but the preparation and training took over my life in much the same way that a wedding or childbirth does.  Then, a few months ago, Pema Deki told me that Opening your Heart to Bhutan had been offered a place in the London Marathon 2019 and suddenly any doubts flew out of the window!  I have known Emma Slade for around 16 years, first as a yoga teacher and then as a friend.  Her journey to becoming the first western woman to be ordained as a Buddhist nun in Bhutan, and all that her charity has achieved in helping build schools and work with the many underprivileged children there, is truly inspirational.  Please do take the time to have a look at the fascinating website and discover the many projects that are currently in progess. I know that every penny raised will be used directly for the good of this incredible cause, so please do consider supporting me
