Gorillas on the Piste · 12 June 2004 ·

With just over 1000 mountain gorillas left in the world and 3 subspecies now critically endangered it is vital we do everything we can to save gorillas from extinction. We protect them from poachers, safeguard their forest home and improve livelihoods in local communities. Will you join us?

Story

On Saturday 12th June 2004, 100 gorilla-clad snowsports enthusiasts converged on Xscape Castleford, and completed 100 miles of real snow piste in just 1 hour.

You missed it! But there's still time to sponsor us..!

The total fundraising target is £10,000, which is desperately needed to help protect the world's last remaining 650 mountain gorillas and bring a little hope to the horribly declining number of eastern lowland gorillas and their precious habitat.

But we want to go better than that - Kings Ski Club are aiming to raise £1000 between us! Dig deep in your pockets - everyone who pledges over £10 will be entered into a prize draw, with thanks to our sponsors at The Daily Telegraph, natives.co.uk and Skiworld.

And don't forget to check the box for "Gift Aid" - if you are a UK taxpayer, this means that an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
