It's been a pretty crazy year since mum passed away. Mark, Eris and I moved into Garwood, my family home since 1993! Before that it was my grandparents.
I never hosted a housewarming as it felt like I never left, and we have had a mammoth job of clearing a life time of 'stuff'. It's amazing what a family house can hoard, and we are still a way off from having sorted it all, but it's getting there.
I've donated a lot of old furniture and crockery etc to rowcroft over the year, as I've collected, and decided to host a swap night to share the treasures I've uncovered. People are welcome to bring their own swaps. Only request is if you take anything, you donate to the gcfund lady garden campaign.
Sarah, will be sharing arbonne goodies with us and also supporting the campaign with donation from sales.
It's a night for pampering, food and wine and seeing what goodies can be found in each other's wardrobes!
The gcfund is really important to me. It's leading research in gynaecological cancers and the lady garden campaign is getting people talking and raising awareness. 58% of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer are already at an advanced stage. Less that 1/10 survive 5 years at this stage of diagnosis. At an early stage of ovarian cancer, almost 9/10 survive 5 years. Testing for ovarian cancer can be as simple as a blood test or finger prick for a ca125 marker and an pelvic ultrasound.
Get talking, be body aware. Demand a referral if you are worried. For our mums, sisters (blood and spirit) grannies, aunts, nieces and daughters - share awareness.
