Story
So I’ve decided to run the 2020 Manchester Marathon in a bid to
raise some more money for the continued research into DIPG in memory of little
Alfie Bear who tragically lost his life to this terrible disease.
After committing the whole of 2018 to a previous challenge
of running 613.1 (just for you Graham) miles throughout the year, including
taking on the Great North Run, I vowed I’d never run again lol.
In October this year I had the privilege of again attending
the Alfie Bears Journey Fund annual dinner where we listened to some more harrowing
facts about DIPG and were shown a slide show of pictures of just some of the
young children this awful disease has claimed the lives on in the past year
alone. It was again being a part of that evening (and after copious amounts of
gin) that I hastily made the decision I would take on a marathon in 2020 in a bid to
raise some more money for this charity to help with the continued research it
so desperately needs.
I would therefore be so grateful to anyone who could find it
in their hearts to put their hands in their pockets and make a donation no
matter how big or small, to help support me raise £1000 from this challenge. Together
we can make a difference xx
