Story
SANDS Lothians offers support, understanding and help, both of a practical and emotional nature to bereaved parents who have experienced the death of a baby through miscarriage and stillbirth.
An amazing consultant at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary helped me to recover and heal after Jack's difficult delivery. I saw him every week for several months. Many of the other families he was supporting at that time had experienced miscarriages and stillbirths. He saw me throughout my second pregnancy and delivered baby Tom. I feel so very grateful to have received the help I did and everyday I know how lucky I am to have my two little boys. To thank the team at the ERI, I would like to do my own little bit for the families who my consultant works with on a daily basis.
So, I decided to undertake the Race to the Stones 100km ultramarathon to raise money for SANDS Lothians.
The race starts at The Chilterns and passes along the oldest path in the UK to the neolithic stone circle in Avebury. There are different rest options, but I've decided to do it in one non-stop effort. Wish me luck!
