Story

THANK YOU!

The target has been reached.  Big thanks to everyone who made a donation to this appeal.  We have now completed the purchase of Knotbury Common!

Any further donations will help to fund habitat improvements.

ORIGINAL APPEAL -

Please help us to raise £7,500 to unlock a grant of £75,000 and enable Staffordshire Wildlife Trust to buy Knotbury Common.

Every £1 donated will unlock £10 of grant funding

Knotbury Common is located in the South West Peak District near Quarnford off the Leek to Buxton Road.  The land is a SSSI and SAC meaning it is recognised nationally and at a European level as an important site for wildlife conservation.

At the moment the land is poorly managed with excessive sheep grazing.  This is detrimentally affecting wildlife habitat.  Staffordshire Wildlife Trust wants to buy the land and improve the habitat to help wildlife thrive.

Staffordshire Wildlife Trust has been offered a grant of £75,000 by Biffa Award to buy the land.  The grant conditions require a "Contributing Third Party" (CTP) payment of £7,500 to be made to release the funds.  This payment cannot be made by Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, it MUST come from a third party, i.e. another organisation or individual(s).

WE SEEK TO RAISE THIS AMOUNT BY FRIDAY 24th MAY

PLEASE SUPPORT THIS URGENT APPEAL.

By making a donation to this appeal you are confirming:

I agree that my contribution will be collected by Staffordshire Wildlife Trust to be paid to a Landfill Operator in order to release Landfill Communities Fund monies for the Knotbury Common - Working for Waders project.  I understand that this contribution is not eligible for Gift Aid.

I confirm that I will not derive a unique benefit from any project undertaken by Staffordshire Wildlife Trust.

Note - if we raise more funds than we need to unlock the grant we will put this towards the future management of Knotbury Common
