Royal Parks Half Marathon 2013 · 6 October 2013 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

I'm running the Royal Parks Half Marathon In October to raise money for the Stroke Association.

The charity has been close to my heart since my lovely gran, Win, died a few years ago after suffering a stroke.

My fundraising target is £350, which isn't a lot, but has the potential to make a real difference. It could pay for a 'Life After Stroke Grant', which would pay for some of the home conversions a stroke survivor needs to be able to live a more independent life.

A half marathon is a huge challenge for me - I'm not a natural athlete by any stretch of the imagination - but it'll be worth it if I hit my target and I will be so grateful for any donation you can afford.
