Those of you who know me know me well enough to know that running is my thing. Running is my challenge. Last year I ran 1000 km as a personal endeavour. 

This year I would like to run 1000 miles (60%) more than I did last year for those people who face more of a personal challenge. A close friend has been battling a condition called vasculitis. This is the inflammation of blood vessels which can cause complications including blocking the flow of blood to parts of the body. 

I have signed up to do the Great South Run in October as well as several half marathons throughout the course of the year. I figure that if she can battle vasculitis I can battle the miles. 

Any spare pennies that you would be able to donate would be greatly appreciated. Su and I will be hosting and organising fundraising events throughout the year. Please come and support these (race nights, quiz nights...)
