I usually run to take care of my own mental health, but now I'm running in support of others' mental health too by running for Health in Mind.
Health in Mind is a charity promoting positive mental health and wellbeing in Scotland. They provide a range of services including counselling; befriending; guided self-help; support for people from minority ethnic communities; combatting isolation by connecting people within their local community; art therapy; outdoor conservation for greater wellbeing; suicide prevention; support with substance misuse; mental health and wellbeing information; training and much more.
I volunteered with Health in Mind during my masters, and was inspired by how brave people can be in talking about mental health. From struggling with my own anxiety, to seeing family and friends go through highs and lows, I know how important it can be to have someone to talk to. By running for Health in Mind, I hope to inspire others to start the conversation about their own mental health.Join me in raising awareness of mental health by supporting Health in Mind!
