The past year has been difficult for many, so were aiming to reach as many people experiencing loss as possible. We want to take away some of the tough things that come with losing a loved one, so that families can focus on the most important - love.

Story

May 19th 2017 sadly my Mum passed away at The Duchess of Kent, Sue Ryder hospice. I have no idea as a family how we would have coped without the the doctors, nursing and support staff at DOK not only at the end of mums life but throughout her illness. The figures show  now 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their life time, a terrifying reality. Places like DOK are not just vital for end of life care but for support throughout treatment and recovery from the disease. They survive entirely on charitable donations and have been so heavily effected by the lack of fund-raising opportunities throughout the Coronavirus pandemic. This is why I want to give a little more back to such an amazing place in memory of my utterly wonderful mum.

The challenge- Whenever I give money to charitable endeavours I always choose the ones that I feel I couldn't do......well this is probably one of those ones but somehow I will keep my legs spinning for long enough to complete.........

Mont Ventoux, 6 times up and down on the trot. 274km, 8800m of climbing. 24 hours to complete. To put that into perspective Mount Everest stands at 8,849m!!!  Only 7 women have achieved the feat before me and in completing I will become the first British female to join the members of the Club des Bicinglés du Mont Ventoux (The double crazies of the windy mountain) I am aiming to raise £6,000. Surely its worth £1000 a climb!?

"Nuts is not the one who climbs the Ventoux but really nuts is the one that does it again!"
