Story
This fundraiser is going to be a doubler with my big brother, Rory and Eilidh’s favourite uncle Graeme completing a 10k!
Hello! Rory and I are back fundraising in memory of Eilidh and for our favourite charity, Brightest Star! ⭐️
We will be participating in the Kiltwalk 3 mile wee wander, on the 26th of April 2026.
Graeme will be completing a 10k on the 23rd of May in memory of Eilidh, for Brightest star.
My daughter, Rory’s little sister, Eilidh, died in 2023, unexpectedly and suddenly after contracting bacterial meningitis. The most traumatic time in life for me, Rory and our family. Wee miss Eilidh every single day and would do anything to have her here with us 💜🌈🌻
Alongside family, brightest star was our first contact for support during the most difficult time in our lives. The charity provided us with a memory box, hand and foot casts, counselling, peer support through tea and talk, Easter Halloween and Christmas party days, days out to the cinema and panto, as well as wellness days which have included sound baths, facial yoga, arts and crafts and flower arranging.
All of the events that Brightest Star put on are so important for bereaved families to know that they are not alone, that there is a whole family of people waiting to support them as best they can. It’s a brave and very big first step to join brightest star during your grief journey but one that will put you at ease, fill you with love and comfort.
Rory is a huge fan of Arlene, the founder of brightest star, and I know that he will be doing this for Arlene, Jack and Eilidh at both of our hearts 💜🌈🌻
