Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

6 years ago I gave birth to my Twin boys Lewis and Dylan and very soon after realised they had autistic traits and global developmental delay, Me and my Husband have always pushed to get them the best out of their lives and worked very hard to get them into a special needs school (not easy as we discovered) After visiting numerous other schools we decided upon Downs View School due to the quality of care, the staff, and the fact it actually felt like a school too, due to them being out of the local catchment another fight was on our hands but the School helped enormously and our wish to have them at Downs View School was granted, the boys have flourished and have turned into such characters in the past year that they have been at the school, after seeing how limited funding is for Special needs schools I've decided to help in any way that I can not only for the future of Lewis and Dylans but for the future of all the brilliant other children too.

I have decided this year to run the Brighton 10k (my first ever attempt)  on behalf of Downs View School due to the amazing support they have provided for my Autistic twin boys Lewis and Dylan over the past year. The school has helped in so many ways and has made a huge difference in their lives, the teachers are incredible and the school goes out its way to help in anyway they can.

The money raised will go straight to Downs View School to buy new equipment, new areas for the brilliant children to enjoy.

About the charity

There is so much more that children with disabilities need. We raise money to provide this: from eye-gaze software to specialist gym equipment, from outdoor play to indoor soft play area. Our current priority is for a trampoline room as part of the school extension and refurbishment works.
