Story
This is a joint fundraising page for myself, Eloise, Matthew and Daniel. We are running the Southampton half marathon for the first time next year in mum's footsteps. We are aiming to beat her time of 2:51:22 (will be a struggle for me but the others should smash it!)
Mum passed away suddenly on the 4th February from a spontaneous sub-arachnoid haemorrhage. She received the best possible care from the ambulance teams, staff in A&E and the staff in the neuro ward, but unfortunately her brain died at around 9.24 in the morning and there was nothing to be done. It was the worst day of our lives but the staff at the hospital did what they could to support us. There is no reason or cure for why mum died so we'd like to give back to the hospital in mum's memory.
Southampton Hospital Charity helps to enhance the care and treatment of patients, working with our partners to raise funds and provide financial support to areas of the hospital service that lie beyond the scope of NHS funding.
