Blackpool Carers Centre

We support unpaid carers and their families to Make a Better Life for Carers

Charity Registration No. 1114558

So this is an amazing charity and an ace opportunity for me to achieve something outside of what I ordinarily do in life (even if I’m crazy scared inside 😬). This is made even better by the fact that I’m sharing this experience with my sister, Vicki!!!! 😘

Please support us by donating generously and help us to not only raise money for an incredible cause but to spur us on to complete a huge personal challenge.

Being an informal (unpaid) carer for a relative or a friend is one of the most rewarding and selfless things you can do with your time, but it can also be one of the most stressful, tiring and difficult jobs you will ever do. Many carers, young and old and all ages in between support their loved ones 24/7 day in, day out, often putting their own needs second.

Everyone needs help and support at various times in their life, and carers are no different. Plus a break from caring responsibilities, once in a while, or on a regular basis is something that helps carers continue their role and still look after their own health and well-being.

Blackpool Carers Centre is a multi-functional space where everyone is welcome and carers can drop in, take part in activities, get help and advice, or just a chance to kick back and relax with like-minded folk and people who quite simply understand what life as a carer is all about. The Centre is a registered charity, supported by a dedicated team of staff and
volunteers. It relies heavily on donations and fundraising to meet its running costs, has a community cafe, and a hair and beauty salon as part of its activities.

Imagine being a child and having pretty much all your spare time taken up with caring for your parent, or an adult trying to support a young family and hold down a job whilst looking after an elderly relative, or an older person with health problems looking after their partner of many years. Like all of us, carers live varied lives. But what makes them really stand out is their unfailing commitment to those they care for, sometimes to the extent of putting their own lives on hold or giving up some or all of their precious 'me' time to support someone else.

Blackpool Carers Centre gives something back to carers - it gives back hope, and companionship, support, well-being, a listening ear, and practical help. You can help them to carry on this essential work and to help even more people in even more ways by making a donation. Simple, eh?
